“I am busy”
Here are some quick facts:
- The average American teen spends five hours on social media and online entertainment.
- That is 7 full 24 hour days per month.
- Per year that makes 2.5 months of full 24 hour days.
- If you do this from age 20 to age 100, that is 16 years of your life on your phone.
We often use the excuse “I wish I could, but I don’t have time”. Whether that goes for visiting relatives, reading a book, pursuing a passion or dream. Time spent on your phone isn’t necessarily time wasted, but you only get 24 hours in a day and you should make an active decision on how to spend that time.
If you disregard developing passions, adventures with friends and chats with your family because you are occupied with something else, then let that be a choice you are aware of making.
Nobody is really too busy for what’s important in life. It all comes down to what you make your number one priority.
